How to apply to Full-Time MBA program

The online registration will become available on November 4, 2019. 

Early admission: from November 4, 2019 until April 1, 2020 (inclusive). The online registration is free of charge.

Regular admission: from April 2, 2020 until May 12, 2020 (inclusive). You need to make a payment to submit your application.

Late admission: from May 13, 2020 until June 1, 2020 (inclusive). You need to make a payment to submit your application.



IELTS/TOEFL/GRE (copies) certificates must be sent to mba.admissions@nu.edu.kz, msf.admissions@nu.edu.kz or graduate.gsb@nu.edu.kz).


To apply to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program of the Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business (NUGSB) applicants must submit a complete application package.


Please, note that Full-Time MBA application fee is 30 000 KZT (inclusive of ALEKS test).

Application fee is non-refundable.


Applicants to the MBA program are expected to have:

1. An undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent). During the application period final year students may submit official current transcript for consideration. 

2. A minimum CGPA of 2.75 out of 4.0 (or equivalent);

3. High level of English proficiency 

The absolute minimum requirement for English language proficiency test reports for admission to the program is: 

1) Overall IELTS test score of 6.5 (with sub-scores no less than 6.0) or the equivalent TOEFL score as posted on the ETS website;

2) Applicants, at the discretion of the Admissions Committee, can be exempted from submitting the language proficiency test report if: 

4. Strong mathematical skills as demonstrated by ALEKS/GMAT or GRE test. ALEKS test will be administered by NUGBS in Astana, Kazakhstan;

5. At least 2 years of cumulative work experience. The Admissions Committee reserves the right to consider exceptional applicants with less than 2 years or work experience;

6. Two essays (the essay questions are available in the application form);

7. Two letters of recommendation.


Applicants must submit the following documents:

1. Complete application form;

2. National ID (for the citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan) and passport (for international applicants);

3. Official document confirming name change (if applicable);

4. Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree diploma with transcript. During the application period final year students may upload official current transcript for consideration.

5. Letter of corporate support, commitment letter or scholarship request form (according to the template in applicant’s personal account);

6. CV in English (it should not exceed one page, A4);

7. IELTS or TOEFL certificate valid as of date of online documents submission;

8. Document confirming English as the language of instruction (only for applicants who earned their degree in a program which was taught in English and request an exemption from submitting IELTS or TOEFL). Applicants should provide a detailed certificate/reference from the university indicating the number and list of subjects completed in English.

9. Documented proof of work experience;

10. ALEKS test result administered by NUGSB or valid GMAT or GRE test report (applies to for international applicants as well);

11. Two essays (the essay questions are available in the application form);

12. Two confidential letters of recommendation (to be provided by referees electronically after receiving an email request);

13. Consent for Applicant’s personal data processing (according to the template in applicant’s personal account).
