If you want to make remote portlets available to your portal users,
you can set up your portal for consuming Web Services for Remote Portlets
(WSRP) and administer the necessary Producer definitions.
About Web services configuration
You can use Web Services Configuration to set up your portal for
consuming Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP). This means preparing your
Consumer portal for integrating remote Web services that have been provided
by Producer portals so that your portal users can work with these Web services.
Additionally, you can configure Web service Producers on the Consumer portal
side and configure various aspects of using Web services in your portal.
Creating a Producer definition
A Producer is a portal that provides WSRP services. Consumer
portals can then consume these WSRP services as remote portlets. To
enable this, you create and configure a Producer definition.
Editing a Producer definition
To update the information for a Producer in your portal,
click Edit for that Producer in the list of
Producer definitions. The Web Service Configuration portlet displays
a panel similar to the Create Producer panel with the information
that you entered before. Modify the information in the fields as required.
Searching
Use the search feature to search the portlet for portal
resources by selecting the type of search and the appropriate search
parameters. This way you can limit the number of portal resources
listed in the portlet.
Configuring the Web Service Configuration portlet
Specify the maximum number of Producer definitions that you want
to have listed in the table, the maximum number of Producers you want to be
listed on each page, and the user attributes that you want to be passed to
Producers by default.
