You can create a vault slot that is associated with a resource
in the Credential Vault and a vault segment. You can also create a shared
vault slot on a resource.
Perform the following steps to add a vault slot:
Note: Do not create
multiple shared vault slots on the same resource. The shared userid and password
of the most recently created shared vault slot will overwrite the shared userid
and password of the previously created shared vault slot.
- Select a vault from the Vault drop-down
menu. The selection list for resources reflects the resources defined for
that vault.
- Type a Name for the vault slot. The name
must be less than 255 characters and cannot include the pipe character |.
- Select a vault segment from the Vault segment drop-down
menu to associate the segment with a resource.
- Click the Vault slot is shared check box
if the resource is associated with information that provides secure access
to more than one user. If you check this box, also enter the following fields:
- Shared userid
- Shared password
- Confirm password
Note: If you add more than one vault slot with the same resource and
you check the Vault slot is shared check box on both,
the shared userid of the second vault slot overwrites the shared userid in
the first vault slot. For example, if the shared userid of the first vault
slot is User1 and the shared userid of the second vault slot is User2, then
the shared userid for the first vault slot would change to User2.
- Select one of the following options to associate a vault slot with
a resource:
- Click the existing radio button and select
a vault resource from the drop-down menu
- Click the new radio button and type a vault
resource name. The name must be less than 64 characters and cannot include
the pipe character |.
- Type a vault slot Description. This description
must be less than 64 characters.
Note: If the description field
is left blank and a locale-specific description is created, the locale-specific
description defaults into this field. If a description is provided in this
field, the locale-specific description will not populate this field.
- Click the Set locale-specific description icon
if other languages are required and supported by the portal. Follow these
steps to set the language:
- Select the radio button of the required Locale.
- Click the Set selected locale description icon.
- Enter the locale's Description. This
description must be less than 64 characters.
- Click Done.
- Click Done.
- Click OK to save the changes or click Cancel to
discard the changes. A task success or failure message appears.
